Time is something that we all wish to control, and it is only relative to the eye of the beholder.
If you crank this machine, you will not slow or speed up the time on your watch. However you will change your perception of time depending on how you crank it. Think about something in the past, present, or future and turn the machine. You'd be surprised at how your perception will change.
The machine itself will change with time. The metals will patina and the bearings will rust, eventually causing the machine to freeze. Everything is affected by time.
This Sculpture was installed at the Bank of America on N Woodland Ave. DeLand, FL as part of the 2011-2012 DeLand Sculpture Walk.

Is this really me?
Or just what I want to be?
Open up the inside,
Just to let it all go.
And become nothing,
In front of all these strangers.
It’s definitely me,
But not who I thought I’d be.
